Reconstruction and seismic upgrading of residential buildings damaged by the 2016 Central Italy earthquake.
The following works concern residential buildings in the municipalities of Visso, Pieve Torina and Castelsantangelo sul Nera, struck by the 2016 seismic events. On each building the firm carried out design, construction supervision and health and safety coordination during design and execution, under direct award. Where the damage allowed, the existing structure was seismically upgraded; where damage was classified at level L4, the building was demolished and rebuilt. The firm has worked on earthquake-damaged buildings since 2010, starting with the first works at Paganica after the L’Aquila earthquake.

Seismic upgrading of a residential building at Fematre
Seismic upgrading of a residential building in the hamlet of Fematre. The structure was strengthened using the reinforced render technique CRM, Composite Reinforced Mortar, a system using connectors and accessories in preformed GFRP composite, made of AR glass fibre and thermosetting resins. The works required the complete renewal of the electrical, plumbing and special services; heating is by underfloor system fed by a 32 kW biomass boiler.

Seismic upgrading of a residential building at Seggiole
Seismic upgrading of a residential building in the rural hamlet of Seggiole, following the same approach adopted at Fematre: CRM reinforced render with GFRP composite connectors and accessories on the existing structure, and complete renewal of the building services.

Seismic upgrading of a residential building on the edge of the hamlet of Croce, carried out with the same technique as the other buildings in the group: strengthening of the masonry structure with CRM reinforced render and GFRP connectors, and renewal of the services.

Demolition and reconstruction of a residential building classified at damage level L4. The project provides for a new construction retaining the essential character of the previous house: use, building type and external appearance. The load-bearing structure is a reinforced concrete frame.
